DuPage County
Located
15 miles west of downtown Chicago,
Dupage County has been among the
fastest growing counties in the United States.
DuPage County is a
very important part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Several
expressways, Trains, and major highways provide access to Chicago,
and the two major airports. The many towns and cities in the County
provide a feeling of small town living, and have excellent Schools,
lots of recreational options, and a safe pleasant environment.
DuPage County covers over 332 Square Miles and has 39 Municipalities
and several unincorporated areas.

Darien
Darien
is located twenty miles west of Chicago. Founded in 1967, Darien is
one of DuPage County’s newer cities. The city is conveniently
located near 3 major highways for easy travel around the Chicago
metropolitan area. Darien offers a variety of housing options
ranging from, entry level condos, to stately mansions. Darien offers
many recreation options ranging from golf at Carriage Greens Country
Club, to ice hockey at the Darien Sportsplex. Darien has a highly
rated school system, an excellent Library, and many public Parks.
There are lots of local Restaurants, and a wide range of shopping.
The motto of Darien is “A Nice Place to Live.”
Schools: Elementary School
service is provided by Districts 61, 63, and 66. High School
students attend either Hinsdale South District 86, or Downers Grove
South District 99.
Downers
Grove
Downers
Grove was founded in 1832, and is located about 25 miles due West of
Chicago. There are several major highways, and a commuter train,
providing access to the entire Chicago metropolitan area. The Town
offers many housing options, excellent schools, and a wide range of
recreational activities. There are many fine restaurants and
excellent shopping located in the city. The recently renovated
downtown area features vibrant shops, Restaurants, and businesses,
and is the site of many community events. There are lots of
employment opportunities with area companies and service oriented
businesses.
Schools: Downers Grove is
served by High School District 99, which has 2 Schools, Downers
Grove North, and Downers Grove South. Elementary education is
provided by Districts 58, 66, and 69.
Woodridge
Woodridge
is located about 23 miles from downtown Chicago. The village has a
population of around 25,000 people. There is a commercial belt
located on its southern boundary to help pay for village services.
Housing options include apartments, condos, town homes, starter
homes, and upscale single family homes. There is an ample supply of
Shops and Restaurants through out the village. Woodridge is home to
3 golf courses, Village Greens, located in the heart of town,
Zigfield Troy’s par 3 course located on its eastern border, and
Seven Bridges Golf Course located in the northwestern side of town.
Schools: Grade school
children attend schools in Woodridge District 68, and High School
students attend Downers Grove High School District 99.
Westmont
Westmont
is located about 20 miles from downtown Chicago and is next to both
Oak Brook and Hinsdale. The population is around 23,000 people. The
village features an old fashioned downtown area with a main street
business area, and train station. There are many parks through out
the village, and a great new Library. Many types of housing options
are available starting with rental units and going on up to luxury
single family homes. The village is convenient to many major
highways and has commuter train service to Chicago. Some bus service
is also available.
Schools: Most elementary
school children attend Community Unit District 201. Others attend
either Districts 58 or 60. Most High School education is provided by
Westmont High School district 201, others attend either Downers
Grove District 99, or Hinsdale District 86.
Clarendon Hills
Clarendon
Hills is located east of Westmont and is about 19 miles from
downtown Chicago. Current population is 7,300 people. Originally an
agricultural area, the village features winding tree lined streets
and a strong downtown business area that has a colonial look. There
is a variety of housing available. The current trend is to tear down
existing small homes that are on large lots. It is now common to
find new homes mixed into an existing area of older homes. Like its
neighboring towns, Clarendon Hills is located near major highways,
and also has its own commuter train station.
Schools: District 181
provides service for the majority of elementary school children;
Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South (District 86) provide High
School education.
Willowbrook
Willowbrook
is located 18 miles south west of downtown Chicago. The Village was
incorporated in 1960 and is approximately 3.5 square miles in size.
The Village has access to several major highways making for easy
travel through out the Chicago Metropolitan area. Illinois Route 83
is a major thoroughfare in the Village, and has plenty of stores,
motels, and shopping centers. The Village has a good mix of
commercial and residential developments. The businesses and retail
stores offer many employment opportunities. There is a wide variety
of housing options available in Willowbrook, ranging from apartments
to luxury single family homes. Quality Educations is important and
local children attend top-notch Schools. There are more than 10
public parks in the Village with about 55 acres of park land.
Schools: Elementary and
Middle School Education is provided by Gower District 62, Maercker
District 60, and Hinsdale District 181. High School Education is
provided by Hinsdale Central, and Hinsdale South in District 86.
